Carlos Slim, the world’s richest person, announced plans to launch a free online news and entertainment channel later this year.

The Mexican telecommunications tycoon will partner up with Larry King to launch Ora.TV, a mostly English language channel that will feature King as one of its on-air personalities. The channel will offer alternatives to traditional broadcasts with shows of different formats and lengths. Jon Hounsman, formerly the president of Digital Journalism for News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA), will be the chief executive officer.

Ora.TV will be headquartered in New York and maintain an office in Los Angeles. The channel could launch as soon as the third quarter of this year.
