The S&P 500 (NYSEARCA:SPY) is down by 0.49% today and stands at 1,289. Here are three stocks that topped the market today.
Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX): Much awaited international project finally shaped up as it launched its unlimited online streaming services in UK and Ireland on Monday. Netflix with its monthly subscription rate of 5.99 Pounds Sterling in the UK and 6.99 Euros in Ireland will likely give the present video streaming providers in these markets a tough competition. What’s more 26% of new broadband subscribers are in China. NFLX closed up 2.42%.
Safeway Inc. (NYSE:SWY) is considered a sell by 35% of Wall Street analysts … and only 4% of the constellation of 10,500 ratings are deemed Sell in 2011. This does not bode well for Safeway, but not today. The stock was up 1.85% today.
Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE:CMG): William Bliar has joined the Chipolte bandwagon, and has moved the stock from Market Perform to Outperform. Whether Chipolte is radically overpriced depends on whether it can maintain its torrid growth pattern. CMG ended the day up 2%.
