Urban Outfitters (NYSE:URBN) profits are down. Dropping down 6.3% the company misses its Q3 revenue forecasts. Drop in same-store sales of 7% and CC comments about a Q/Q gross margin decline for Q4 are not helping. Lowering its PT to $31, Piper continues to believe in growth opportunities for the Urban Outfitters.
American Eagle’s (NYSE:AMR) punishment for holding passengers on board planes for hours on the tarmac, may lead to the cancellation of more flights by other airlines. Being slapped with a $900,000 may deter future incidents, but it has a domino effect on business. Michael Boyd, airline analyst says, “if there’s 20% of this happening, an airline will cancel” because there is a potential for massive fines.
General Motors (NYSE:GM) sees sales hitting 14M. After October’s sales of 13.3M, which was the best since Augusts’ Cash-for-Clunkers program helped spike sales, finally there will be a return to the market of brand loyalists who’ve been extending leases instead of purchasing new cars.
