J&J Snack Foods (NASDAQ:JJSF) is down taking a hard hit after its fiscal first quarter largely disappointed on a net basis. The cost of goods sold for the quarter jumped over 15% year-over-year. Gerald Shreiber, J & J’s President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Although our overall sales grew modestly, higher input costs and operating expenses impacted our profitability for the period and the six months.”
McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) is down as it receives a dose of unwanted negative publicity. It can be found under the hashtag #McDStories; a Twitter campaign the company started as a marketing campaign, backfires when asking customers to relate anecdotal tweets. The return was an onslaught of fast food horror stories.

Jarden (NYSE:JAH) shares race to the top after projecting fourth quarter revenue slightly ahead of consensus. It plans to accelerate up to $500 million in stock buybacks. The maker of slow cookers and coffee brewers increases guidance for fourth quarter revenue to $1.73 billion-$1.74 billion, up from a previous estimate of $1.72 billion.
Toyota (NYSE:TM) is lifting its 2012 output forecast for its recently launched Aqua compact hybrid by 80,000 units, to 320,000. A difficult year was had in 2011 for the automaker, but it expects sales of its Prius hybrid to increase 22% this year, to 8.58 million.
