Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) and Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO) have reached an agreement on an extensive strategic arrangement that will expand their current partnership, which includes a joint advertising sales initiative, and alows cross-licensing of some key patents, say sources to AllThingsD. The new deal could be announced later on Friday.
LinkedIn Corporation’s (NYSE:LNKD) user base majority is likely in North America, which comprises just over 43 percent of all registered users. Europe is next with 22.4 percent and Asia with 14.6 percent. The site is dominated by American members, and over 58 million U.S. residents are using the site, with Indians coming in second with a bit more than 13 million users.

Yelp, Inc. (NYSE:YELP) shares rise to levels last seen in early April, amid speculation that Apple plans to integrate Yelp’s check-in feature for points of interest within its new mapping software, which will accompany iOS 6. Whether Foursquare or Facebook’s (NASDAQ:FB) check-in features will also be joined in, is so far unknown.
