Will ZaZa Energy’s Assest Sale Make These Top Institutional Shareholders Happy?

ZaZa Energy Corp. (NASDAQ:ZAZA) agreed to sell its Moulton assets for $52.5 million and signed a joint exploration and development agreement with EOG Resources (NYSE:EOG). The oil-and-gas company intends to focus on its Eaglebine assets, claim Dow Jones Newswires. Shares saw a boost of 9.8 percent reaching $1.80 in recent trading, but during the past twelve months, the stock has dropped 52 percent. This move comes after Zaza made the statement last year that it ended its partnership agreements with Hess Corp. (NYSE:HES) to explore and develop the Eagle Ford shale formation in Texas and the Paris Basin and was seeking another joint venture partner in Texas. Zaza received an immediate payment totaling $15 million to end its exploration and development agreement with the oil company.
