Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) approved the biggest salary bonus in five years as the weak yen increases the value of exports, which assists the company in projecting the highest profit since 2008. Toyota agreed to a union proposal for a 2013 average bonus of nearly 2.05 million yen ($21,375), versus the 1.77 million yen during 2012, the company added. In 2008, the company paid a bonus totaling 2.51 million yen claims the Japan Automobile Workers’ Union. The carmaker’s bonus rise comes after similar boosts by its rival Honda Motor (NYSE:HMC) and electronics group Hitachi, which adds to indications that the nation’s manufacturers have recovered after earthquakes and a tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand disrupted output during 2011 and 2012.
