Natural gas producer Quicksilver Resources (NYSE:KWK) will sell a 25 percent stake in its Barnett Shale oil and gas assets to a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas for a price of $485 million, the Associated Press reported. According to Quicksilver, it will continue to  operate the assets that are in Texas. Shale is a rock formation that is thousands of feet underground, and the company stated that it expects to use proceeds from the sale as a means to reduce its debt. This transaction will likely close on April 30. On Monday Quicksilver reported that its fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year net income and revenue were higher than it first reported in February.
