Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRKA) agreed to convert its Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) warrants into shares when the contracts expire during October, which will make it one of the bank’s largest stockholders, Bloomberg stated. Buffett obtained the Goldman Sachs warrants as part of a capital injection he provided to the New York-based bank in September 2008. “We intend to hold a significant investment in Goldman Sachs, a firm that I did my first transaction with more than 50 years ago,” Buffett, 82, claimed via a statement today. Buffett’s warrants gave Berkshire the right to purchase the stock at $115, and it already has a $1.35 billion paper profit, based on Goldman Sachs’s closing share price of $146.11 on Monday.
