Will Apple’s New MacBook Pro Debut in October?
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) watchers have been anticipating a new iteration of Apple’s MacBook Pro, ever since the Cupertino-based company unveiled the revamped MacBook Air at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. A recent supply chain rumor reported by the China Times via Apple Insider suggests that the new Haswell-equipped MacBook Pro will be launched in October.
The anonymous industry source also stated that dynamic random-access memory, or DRAM, prices have recently increased. However, a decline in LCD panel and solid state drive prices is expected to offset any potential MacBook Pro price increase.
Like the latest MacBook Airs, the new MacBook Pros are expected to include Intel’s (NASDAQ:INTC) next-generation Haswell processors that use significantly less battery power while offering an even higher workload capability. Although it is unknown how the Haswell processors will change the new MacBook Pro’s battery life, the 13-inch MacBook Air has jumped from approximately 7 hours of battery life to an “all day” battery life of 12 hours, according to Apple’s website.
