What Will Google Do With This New Motorola Technology?

Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (NYSE:MMI) launched its new Dreamgallery technology in Boston on Tuesday.

The new operating system will work similarly to Google Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Google TV, allowing Internet-connected televisions to communicate with computers and mobile devices in order to quickly offer personalized content. The new technology is powered by Motorola’s cloud service, which houses entertainment content from a variety of locations, including the Internet and streaming video services like Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX).

According to Nate Williams, Motorola’s senior director of product marketing, one of the most important facets of the new technology is the ability for users to interact with it on several different devices, including tablets and smartphones. No release date has been set, but Williams says that Dreamgallery should be available in both the U.S. and Europe during 2012. The company has not yet confirmed whether the new operating system will be integrated with Google TV now that Google’s acquisition of Motorola is complete.
