Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is busy adding design talent to its team as it tries to transfer focus to creating products that can be monetized and create a more steady revenue stream as the company enters the scrutiny-rich world of public trade. The social network has now hired the team behind the San Francisco-based user experience research and design firm, Bolt Peters.

“We’re stoked about Facebook’s commitment to user experience, and the design team is a critical part of this,” chief executive Nate Bolt said in a blog post announcing the move.
The small firm — it has fewer than 10 employees — will close operations on June 22 and join Facebook’s design team. The company was co-founded by Bolt in 2002 and has had clients including Twitter, Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA), Pandora (NYSE:P), Warner Music (NYSE:TWX), Sony (NYSE:SNE), Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), and Volkswagen. It also created a separate standalone company called Ethnio that provides websites with a way to tap visitors for real-time research.
The team from Bolt Peters will possibly help Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) analyze user research quicker than its current way of watching if they engage with new features after their introduction and how they alter their sharing and time-on-site activities with the changes. Bolt Peters’ past services have included live remote research, mobile research, training, live recruiting, game research, and user experience work.
