Valmont Industries (NYSE:VMI): Closing price $147.68

Valmont has acquired privately-held Locker Group Holdings, a maker of perforated and expanded metal for the non-residential market, industrial flooring and handrails for the access systems market, along with screening media for applications in the industrial and mining sectors. Locker Group sees yearly sales of about $80 million and operates five manufacturing locations across the region. Valmont expects the acquisition to be slightly accretive to its 2013 earnings. Shares closed up 1.45 percent on the day at $147.68, having been traded in a 52-week range of $105.00 to $148.26.
