VMware ACQUIRES Rauch and 3 Chip and Big Data Stocks Making Moves Pre July 4th

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC): Intel Capital (NASDAQ:INTC) will sell a controlling stake in Netretail Holding, an online retail company in Central and Eastern Europe, to MIH Allegro, a unit of Naspers, The Next Web reports. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The shares traded up $0.02 (0.06%) recently at $26.67.

QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM): Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) has a lead on Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) and Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN) in fielding ARM processors ready for Windows RT (NASDAQ:MSFT) hardware, thinks prominent chip industry analyst Patrick Moorhead. Moorhead argues Nvidia, whose Tegra processors will power the Windows RT version of Microsoft Surface, is ahead partly due to its experience (courtesy of its GPU business) working with Windows drivers. H-P just postponed plans to sell a Windows RT system featuring a Qualcomm chip.

VMware, Inc. (NYSE:VMW): Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE:HPQ) VP and general manager for the channel sales operation in the Americas, Frank Rauch, is leaving the company to join VMware (NYSE:VMW), according to an internal H-P email obtained by AllThingsD. The shares traded down $0.53 (.58%) recently at $90.51.

ARM Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARMH): Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ) said it will hold off selling tablets based on ARM Holdings Plc technology when the next version of Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Windows operating system debuts later this year. Hewlett-Packard instead will focus on so-called x86 chips, such as those made by Intel Corp., said Marlene Somsak, a spokeswoman for Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard. The shares traded up $0.19 (0.80%) recently at $23.98.
