Verizon Communications Inc.’s (NYSE:VZ) intended spectrum swap with T-Mobile (DTEGY.PK) is gaining favorable views from the FCC, the Washington Post reports. The deal, featuring spectrum and considered more valuable that Verizon’s previous attempts at hawking to T-Mobile and others, may cause Verizon’s controversial spectrum purchases from cable providers to be approved.

MetroPCS (NYSE:PCS) and Leap Wireless (NASDAQ:LEAP) both trade lower following Goldman’s slash of their targets due to new concerns regarding competition from both nationwide and virtual carriers using their infrastructure. The firm believes MetroPCS could report the first drop in subscribers its ever seen and a drop in Q2 service revenue. The firm predicts both companies trading lower near-term until positive catalysts arrive later in the year.
Level 3 Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:LVLT) has announced its selection by ScaleMatrix, a provider of private cloud hosting and managed services provider, will offer secure, reliable connectivity between tow of its most prominent data center facilities located in San Diego, CA and Katy, TX. ScaleMatrix intends to connect both data center locations as a means to support critical applications along with sensitive customer information replication for healthcare and financial services customers. Level 3 services will also be used by ScaleMatrix to connect end customers to the data center facilities and public Internet. The shares traded up $0.20 (0.95%) recently at $21.26.
Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR): The data center has been reshaped by Computer networking changes, and start-ups compete with established firms such as Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) and Juniper Networks, who have begun rethinking strategy, the Wall Street Journal reports. The shares traded down $0.11 (0.71%) recently at $15.48.
