Verizon Expands Its Network in US & Europe and 2 Other Dow Movers to Watch

On Monday, Verizon announced that it has expanded the 100G tech on its ultra-long-haul network in the United States and in Europe, adding the technology to over 4,800 miles of its global IP network during the first half of this year. The 100G expansion includes close to 4,500 miles on the Verizon U.S. network, bringing to roughly 21,400 the total number of 100G miles currently deployed on the network.
New 100G routes include Charlotte to Nashville, Seattle to Salt Lake City, Indianapolis to St. Louis, St. Louis to Memphis, and Cleveland to Detroit. Verizon has a goal of deploying an additional 8,700 100G miles in the United States by the end of 2013.
