Suntech Power Hldgs. Co (NYSE:STP) CEO Zhengrong Shi and Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL) CEO Jifan Gao estimate that China may double its installations of solar panels in 2012, absorbing excess production that depressed prices and margins in 2011, reports Bloomberg Businessweek.

The shares closed at $3.49, up $0.25, or 7.72%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $628.45 million.

American Electric Power (NYSE:AEP) will announce its 2012 ongoing earnings guidance, capital spending plans and other information during a meeting with financial analysts and investors on February 10 in New York.

The shares closed at $39.95, down $1.33, or 3.22%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $19.29 billion.

Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE:D): Says will file new SEC shelf registration today to replace expiring shelf. The registration includes an At-the-Money program. The company says it does not expect to issue any shares under this program in 2012.

The shares closed at $49.56, down $1.29, or 2.54%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $28.23 billion.
