Toyota EARNS Quality Certification and 4 Auto Stocks Making the Rounds

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) announced the beginning of the production of vehicles at its newest manufacturing facility located in Craiova, Romania. The plant will be used to produce the Ford B-MAX along with a 1.5-liter petrol second engine. The second engine’s volume production will begin with the new year.  The shares traded down $0.6 (0.63%) recently at $9.44.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) witnesses quick Russian growth give some relief to its slowing sales in China, says a top executive. During the first half of 2012, GM raised sales 25% year over year to a total of 136,400 led by the Chevrolet Niva’s strong showing in the nation. The shares traded down $0.1 (0.49%) recently at $20.21.

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) announces that it has gained quality certification from leading  European automakers, Nikkei reports. Automotive SPICE gave the certification to Toyota, and it was earned for software development in car air-conditioning compressors. The shares traded down $0.84 (1.05%) recently at $79.30.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE:HMC): TVS Motor Co. and BMG AG’s motorcycle division is currently considering a technological alliance, which could assist the Indian company in development of higher powered two-wheelers to increase competition with local rivals like Hero MotoCorp Ltd. and Bajaj Auto Ltd. as well as Japan’s Yamaha Motor Co. and Honda Motor Co. The shares traded down $0.78 (2.31%) recently at $32.97.

Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares rose 1.68% and rise higher since traders are divided about if there will a short squeeze or if rumors saying Apple may be interested in taking a stake in the company is wrangling in more buyers. Rocco Pendola states that it is not necessary for the company to accomplish much regarding financial targets in order to claim success compared to automaking giants like Ford and GM. The shares traded up $0.52 (1.68%) recently at $31.51.
