WINNERS:
Titanium Metals Corp. (NYSE:TIE) gained 7.02% today after announcing that it had come to an agreement with Boeing (NYSE:BA) to supply the aircraft maker with titanium.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (NASDAQ:CLNE) shares gained 12.80% during the regular session today, and continue to trade heavily after hours, after Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE:CHK) announced Tuesday that they would invest $150 million in Clean Energy over the next 3 years. Bank of America Merrill Lynch (NYSE:BAC) responded by upgrading Clean Energy’s stock from Under-perform to Buy.
LinkedIn (NYSE:LNKD) gained 8.41% today after JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) issued a bullish note on the Internet sector.
Kinetic Concepts (NYSE:KCI) shares climbed 5.80% after the medical-device maker announced that it would be bought by a private-equity consortium in a $6.3 billion deal, valuing its stock at $68.50 a share.
LOSERS:
Investment Technology Group (NYSE:ITG) shares dropped 13.95% after the company announced expectations of second-quarter losses between $4.62 and $5.18 a share.
Orbitz (NYSE:OWW) shares plummeted 10.37% today, partially offsetting yesterday’s 30% gain after announcing its partnership with Virgin Australia. The stock is already trading up after hours, and remains 18.07% above Monday’s opening share price.
The floor fell out from under Transcept Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TSPT), with shares plunging 42.49% today after the company said it expects its application to market new insomnia drug, Intermezzo, to be rejected by the FDA on Thursday.
Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) shares climbed 6.73% after news that Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) had agreed to buy PopCap Games in a $1.3 billion deal, validating the mobile entertainment industry and makers of social games.
