Netflix, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:NFLX) OTT TV service was a major disruptive force and it was driven by high profile tie-ins with connected device manufacturers and streaming deals with studios. Netflix has been criticised recently for having insufficient “blockbuster” content and the company blames the program distributors for trying to charge too much.

Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC): SportsNet released a statement saying, “Despite our best efforts and their customers’ demands, Dish Network has elected not to carry Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes.” Currently, Dish Network has nearly 609,000 subscribers in the L.A. market.

CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) has named the entire month of November as Thanksgiving to assist in supporting the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts of the American Red Cross and CBS has had a long partnership with the orginization in times of crisis.

(NYSE:DIS): Today, Disney Interactive has announced that the “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” will be made available; this is the sequel to the popular “Disney Epic Mickey” video game. “Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” will be available for the Wii™ system from Nintendo, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system should be made available for the Nintendo’s Wii U™ system from 30th November 2012.  Furthermore, “Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion,” which is the first Nintendo 3DS™ title for “Disney Epic Mickey,” has been available at major retailers nationwide.

Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has made a $50,000 Comcast Foundation grant to Operation HOPE, which is a non-profit promoting financial literacy and empowerment. This donation will be intended for new HOPE Financial Dignity Center Cyber Café located in the Martin Luther King, Sr. Community Resource Complex at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.
