Facebook Gets OLD SCHOOL

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) may have found a new e-commerce opportunity with the introduction of its “Mail A Postcard” feature that lets users of the social network mail photographs from the website as real-life postcards to friends. Powered by app-to-postcard company Sincerely, Facebook’s new feature will let a user choose a photograph, add a message for the back, and have it sent out to a friend as a paper postcard. The sender is charged a small fee and Facebook is currently testing out a several different price points, according to Mashable.

Sincerely is the maker of Postagram, which lets users print and mail out Instagram photographs for $0.99 per card.

Users in Facebook’s tester group for the feature will see a “Mail Postcard” button at the bottom of photos they’re viewing. Currently, users can mail their own private photos to friends, but not public photos or photos from Facebook Pages.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) may also eventually integrate the feature with the services of a mobile social gifting app Karma, a startup it recently acquired.
