This week is all about earnings — lots of of earnings reports from high-profile and blue-chip companies. Market watchers will especially keep their eyes on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) and Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F).

On the economic front, the second quarter’s U.S. GDP growth number comes out on Friday.
IPOs are back in the conversation with ones from Avast Software BV, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group LLC and Northern Tier Energy on the tap this week.
Over in Europe, the troika (the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank) will travel to Cyprus on Monday, followed by an Athens visit on Tuesday. The group will give an estimate of Cyprus’ financing needs and then review how Greece is doing in its bailout efforts.
