U.S. new vehicle sales for Ford jumped 9.3 percent last month, according to an announcement made by Ford on Friday. The company reportedly sold 195,822 cars in February, a rise from 179,119 during the previous year and 166,501 the previous month. Edmunds.com predicted that the company would see a higher sales increase of 16 percent, but Ford’s strong February sales were hindered by luxury brand Lincoln. The company reported an 11 percent sales improvement, but Lincoln sales dropped 29 percent. Including both brands, car sales saw a 6.4 percent boost, outdoing the 3.6 percent improvement in truck sales.
