Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) launch event is currently ongoing. Among announcements, remarks and happenings thus far (late afternoon) is word that 46 of the top 50 mobile applications will be supported by Windows Phone 8, and among those are updated versions of Twitter, Facebook, and Skype, plus next year a Pandora application that will feature a year of ad-free music. Additionally, Jessica Alba appeared to promote Windows Phone 8′s features, which include a Kid’s Corner along with a revamped People Hub for uniting contacts and social networking content.
