Near-term production for Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus 7 tablet might exceed 3 million, if a Digitimes report claiming that Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) has received orders for at least 3 million Tegra 3 processors for use in the Nexus 7 proves correct. The 16 gigabyte 7 tablet was out of stock for a week, implying that the early demand is strong. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has just posted 17 million shipments of the iPad in the second quarter and its iPad Mini is coming soon, so it likely has less to worry about than does Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) from the Nexus 7.
