5 Hot Stocks Moving the Market Wednesday

Franco-Nevada Corporation (NYSE:FNV):  UBS believes that precious metal equities are going to benefit and they raised their price targets in the gold sector by 12% and in the silver sector by 18%.  However, three companies, Franco-Nevada Corp., Royal Gold Inc. and Hecla Mining Co., have been downgraded.

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNSS):  After the company said that they are expanding a study of their cancer drug, Vosaroxin, shares of Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. increased.  Sunesis said they are adding 225 more patients for a total of 665 to a late-stage trial design which will test Vosaroxin as a treatment for acute Myeloid Leukemia in patients who have not responded well to one previous treatment. Sunesis said that the expansion was recommended by a committee of independent monitors who had reviewed early results from the trial.

Vanguard Natural Resources, LLC (NYSE:VNR): Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NYSE:VNR) offered six million of their common units priced at a 4% discount and representing limited liability company interests. The oil and gas exploration company’s units were down 4.4% at $27.40 in recent pre-market trading, this is below the offer price of $27.51 each. However, the units are up 3.7% this year.

Sterling Bancorp (NYSE:STL): Sterling Bancorp (NYSE:STL) has an annual dividend yield of 3.61%. The stock has traded between $6.65 and $10.25 in the last 12-months. Their market capitalization is now at $307.93 million. STL operates as a bank holding company for Sterling National Bank and provides a range of banking as well as financial products and services in the United States, primarily in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Office Depot (NYSE:ODP): Office Depot, Inc. (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office supplies and services, and the Office Depot Foundation announced that Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet in the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series, will join the Foundation and donate 6,000 new sackpacks to non-profit organizations, schools, and agencies in and around the Chicago area.
