Sunday Stock Stories: Amazon’s HUGE BLACKOUT Affects Big Clients, Microsoft SHUFFLES the Deck

Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) executive in charge of handling relationships with hardware clients Steven Guggenheimer, has been repositioned to an unspecified management spot, a move that the firm says is the result of long-term planning. However the reassignment shortly follows the intro of Microsoft Surface, which has perturbed several Windows original equipment manufacturers. The marketing executive Nick Parker will replace Guggerheimer.

Amazon Web Services (NASDAQ:AMZN) experienced a huge power outage from the storms that hit the East Coast Friday night. Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), Instagram, Pinterest, and several other Amazon clients were impacted by the outage, which was the second time AWS went down in June, and, along with a similar power outage Thursday at Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM), only reinforces worries that some enterprises still have the reliability of cloud services. This outage comes only days after Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) introduced a rival cloud infrastructure platform.
