Sprint Brushes Off Bankruptcy Worries and 4 Telecom Titans Attracting Interest

AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T):  AT&T, Inc. and Novatel Wireless jointly announced a next-generation mobile hotspot, The MiFi 2, which will be offered in the future as the AT&T MiFi Liberate. The device differs from older MiFi personal hotspots due to its 2.8-inch touchscreen and up to 11 hours on a single battery charge. More of the device configuration is handled directly on the MiFi Liberate, which also doubles as a media server.

Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE:S):  Bankruptcy is off the table for Sprint Nextel Corp. as they struggle to compete for their share of Apple iPhone 5 profits. At least Sprint doesn’t have to worry about the most vocal telecom bear on Wall Street raising the prospect of doom for the company with larger telecoms like AT&T  and Verizon.
