Boeing INCREASES Production and 4 Stocks in Action to Start the Week

Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Airbus (EADSY) could take seven to eight years to clear the current order backlog of over 4,00o planes each at current production rates; the two aircraft makers are planning to increase production by 40 percent by getting their larger suppliers to acquire smaller ones and thereby consolidate a supply chain of over 1,500 suppliers each.

Sony (NYSE:SNE) reaped at good haul at the box-office this weekend with its blockbuster film, The Amazing Spider-Man, collecting $65 million in the U.S. – that takes the film’s total take at $140 million in the U.S. and $341 million globally.

Panasonic’s (NYSE:PC) costs to restructure its unwieldy business model and over 90 different units may exceed the originally budgeted 41 billion yen ($515.5 million) for FY 2012/13, according to new President Kazuhiro Tsuga.

FTI Consulting (NYSE:FCN) expects to incur a pre-tax charge of up to $28 million in its second quarter due to the termination of services of 115 employees, about 3 percent of its workforce, in June; it will also consolidate leased office space in six locations. These, and other actions will net $14 million in savings over the rest of 2012.
