SanDisk ACQUIRES Schooner and 3 Chip and Big Data Stocks on the Move

Broadcom Corp. (NASDAQ:BRCM) has had its 2012 handset unit growth forecast lowered from 8% to 6% by Barclays, who also drops its smartphone forecast from 46% to 42%, citing a weak  macro environment, soft sell through, and channel destocking. The firm still prefers Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), and Broadcom.

QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) Atheros has been chosen to participate in Wi-Fi Alliance’s Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint test suite, and the company’s devices are some of the first to be certified by the program. Because they support the new generation of hotspot technology, Qualcomm Atheros’ Passpoint devices make it more simple for end-users to have access to automatic and secure Wi-Fi access on the go. The shares traded up $0.35 (0.66%) recently at $53.91.

Rackspace Hosting, Inc. (NYSE:RAX): IceWEB (IWEB)  recently announced its entering into Rackspace Hosting’s, the cloud computing service leader, Partner Program. This relationship is intended to gain mutual value for IceWEB and Rackspace, and it should raise targeted exposure as well as both companies’ reputation.  The shares traded up $1.02 (2.34%) recently at $44.60.

SanDisk Corp. (NASDAQ:SNDK) will acquire Schooner Information Technology, Inc., a Silicon Valley located software company developing flash-optimized database and data store solutions. The shares traded up $0.40 (1.12%) recently at $36.27.
