The love-hate relationship between Samsung and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has another reason to get rockier. According to PatentlyApple, the Korean company has launched a new lawsuit against the iPhone maker in its home country, alleging that the iOS Notification Center infringes on an active patent.

What is the Lawsuit About?

Apple’s Notification Center came along with iOS 5 in 2011, a little after Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android added a notification system to its mobile system. It is not yet clear if Samsung is alleging violation of a patent it owns or an enhancement of the Android feature. The iOS Notification Center allows easy access to incoming messages, email, weather, and other information through a pull-down screen. Foss Patents suggested that the Samsung issue was likely related to a non-standard-essential patent.
