Radar Movers: Microsoft and Google Impress Wall Street, IBM Sinks 4%
Shares of Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) gained 2.3 percent in late afternoon hours. The company announced a quarterly profit of $6.06 billion (72 cents per share), compared to $5.11 billion (60 cents per share) a year earlier. Revenue also jumped 18 percent to $20.49 billion. “The bold bets we made on cloud services are paying off as people increasingly choose Microsoft services including Office 365, Windows Azure, Xbox LIVE, and Skype,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer.
