QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) along with U.S.-based Intel Corp have begun to consider jointly investing nearly 30 billion yen ($378 million) in debt filled Japanese consumer electronics maker Sharp Corp, according to two sources who are familiar with the situation.

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC): Today, the company announced that Sekisui Diagnostics, who a manufactures innovative medical diagnostic solutions, has standardized on EMC® technologies for the implementation of a data center infrastructure in only three months as part of its divesture from Genzyme Corporation. Sekisui Diagnostics chose EMC VNX® over NetApp and Dell storage as a means to more efficiently and easily manage quick business growth, as it works to improve response time for IT requests. VMware, Inc. (NYSE:VMW): SYNNEX (NYSE:SNX) announced at its Varnex Fall Conference that it launched a new initiative with Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE:HPQ) HP Enterprise Group and VMware (NYSE:VMW), named the HP-VMware Virtualization Implementation Skills Advantage program. The program is intended to assist resellers in the implementation of virtualization from the desktop to the data center for their small and medium business, or SMB, customers. The program is focused on the acceleration of SYNNEX’ broad ecosystem of resellers via HP and VMware combined solutions allowing SMB customers to automate and simplify their rapidly transforming IT environment.
