Fluor Corporation (NYSE:FLR) was awarded a series of follow-on contracts from the Toronto-based Barrick Gold for new scopes of work at the Pascua-Lama mining project on the Argentine/Chile border. The company booked the undisclosed value into backlog in the fourth quarter. The award’s new scopes of work are for overall project management and construction management for the Pascua location on the Chilean side of the site, along with construction management and construction for the Lama location on the Argentine side. The latter two scopes form part of a 50/50 joint venture with the Argentinian contractor Techint. Shares closed down 0.38 percent on the day at $31.51, having been traded in a 52-week range of $31.00 to $50.02.
