Although the documents were filed in August of 2011, recently published images of what can only be described as a wrist-based accessory that were submitted by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) almost assuredly confirm that the company is indeed planning to design and produce an iWatch. The language used to describe the unit state that it can be worn anywhere on the body, though the patent image clearly shows the device wrapped around a wrist.
Less of a watch and more of “slap bracelet,” CNET reports that the language used by Apple to describe the gadget mentions that it uses a bi-stable spring, which would allow the device to conform to the user’s wrist, instead of using a traditional strap and buckle.
