Ouch! Apple Gets Slapped Again

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has lost its appeal of a ruling in favor of rival Samsung’s (SSNLF) Galaxy tablet. A British court on Thursday denied Apple’s appeal of an earlier decision that the tablet did not copy the iPad.

The two companies are engaged in a patent war for both smartphones and tablets in courts around the world. Britain’s Court of Appeal upheld its judgment that, despite some similarities, Samsung did not infringe Apple’s design, in part because its products were “not as cool” as the iPad.

In the upheld ruling, Apple was instructed to run ads, both on its website and in selected newspapers, saying the Korean company did not copy the iPad. Judge Kitchin on Thursday said that the notices must be in a font size no smaller than 14-point Ariel.
