Nokia Unveiled This New Phone, in Case You Didn’t Notice

On a day of new tech unveilings dominated by Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) special event, it might be easy to overlook the announcement made by Nokia (NYSE:NOK) Tuesday.

Luckily, we’ve got you covered.

With drastically less fanfare than Apple, Nokia introduced its new Lumia 510, a budget smartphone with a 4-inch screen that will be sold in emerging markets.

The Lumia 510 will roll out in markets like India, China, South America, and Asia in November, and will hope to compete with similar low-priced Android phones that have enjoyed considerable recent success, particularly in Asia.

Most of the specs on the Lumia 510 are run-of-the-mill, as the objective is clearly to deliver a low-priced option.  The new phone will run the Windows Phone 7.5 OS, packs a pedestrian 800MHz Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) processor, and is the cheapest Lumia model to date. It is expected to be priced around $200.
