Nokia SLASHES Phone Prices and 2 Morning Hot Stocks Trading Today

The pay-TV industry continues to be wary of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) TV and set-top moves, in particular that Apple controls the user interface, the possibility of Apple selling the hardware directly to consumers and its entry into content deals, according to Bloomberg. Apple is reported to have made the most headway in talks with Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), and may be softening its stance on content.

The rush for acquiring bandwidth gathers speed as downloads by data subscribers increase. According to Bloomberg, AT&T (NYSE:T) is setting up spectrum purchase deals aggregating $2.6 billion, as it seeks to close the gap with rival Verizon (NYSE:VZ).

It’s raining discounts at Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) range of Windows phones. The price of the mid-range Lumia 800 Windows phone is cut 15 percent while other Windows models also see smaller price drops. The price actions follow on the new devices Nokia introduced yesterday.
