Antares Pharma Inc (NASDAQ:ATRS) has announced positive results from a human factors usability study for its VIBEX Methotrexate, which is a proprietary auto injector product made to self-administer a quick subcuatneous weekly injection of methotrexate to treat rheumatoid arthritis. The shares closed at $3.71, up $0.11 or 3.06% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $1.51 to $3.75.
Landec Corp. (NASDAQ:LNDC) has entered three agreements with INCOTEC Coating and Seed Technology Companies, who provides seed and coating technology products and services. The shares closed at $8.27, up $0.54 or 6.99% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $4.85 to $8.19.
Merck & Company (NYSE:MRK): As the auction enters its final stage, five major drug companies remain in the race to acquire Amylin (NASDAQ:AMLN), says Reuters, and final bids could begin by the end of the week. The final five are Novartis (NYSE:NVS), Sanofi (NYSE:SNY), Bristol Myers (NYSE:BMY), AstraZenica (NYSE:AZN) and Merck (NYSE:MRK). The shares closed at $40.07, up $0.28 or 0.7% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $29.47 to $40.31.
News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA): Following the infamous phone hacking scandal that wrecked Rupert Murdoch’s plans to gain total control of British Sky Broadcasting (BSYBY.PK), he seriously considers separating News Corp. into two separate companies, reports Ad Age. Plans have been made and talks are currently at the late stage. The shares closed at $21.76, up $1.68 or 8.37% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $13.38 to $20.70.
Ryland Group (NYSE:RYL): Due to a limited supply of previously owned homes as well as record-low mortgage rates, newly built home sales have reached its hightest level within two years. In May, new single-family homes were sold at a 369,000 seasonally adjusted annual rate, a 7.6% increase from April and nearly 20% higher than the previous year, reports the Commerce Department. The shares closed at $24.21, up $0.91 or 3.91% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $9.15 to $24.10.
