Instead of blowing the bank to get in shape, consider downloading these five free apps that will help you reach your resolution by serving as not only your personal trainer, but also as your dietician.

1. MyFitnessPal

First on the list is the Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker app by MyFitnessPal. This app has a database of more than three million foods, and a fast exercise and food entry. The information you enter syncs to the Web, making it easy to log from multiple devices. It even has a recipe calculator allowing you to enter your own recipes and calculate their nutritional contents. The app also has more than 350 exercises to choose from, and easily tracks your training. You set your own goals with the app and have the option to connect with friends to motivate each other.
