Netflix Gains Exclusive Rights to “Hunger Games” Streaming and 3 Media Titans Making Waves

AOL, Inc. (NYSE:AOL): Current price $36.67

According to people familiar with the matter, AOL Chief Operating Officer Artie Minson plans to leave the company by the end of the year. This all came about during a restructuring that has eliminated his recently created post, and will bring media veteran Susan Lyne on board to oversee some of AOL’s content properties, such as TechCrunch, Patch, and Engadget. She will not oversee the Huffington Post, whose founder, Arianna Huffington, will continue to report directly to CEO Tim Armstrong. Ms. Lyne, an AOL board member, was a former CEO of Gilt Groupe, and Martha Stewart Living Omnipedia. She will give up her seat on the board. This shake-up was brought to light just eight months after Armstrong promoted Mr. Minson from CFO. The company said that its goal is “to decentralize top management.”
