Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU): Intuit released the first of three season-to-date updates for its FY12 consumer tax offerings. Through Feb. 18, total TurboTax federal units were up 10% to 14.09M compared to the same period last year. Also through Feb. 18, TurboTax Online units were up 19%, while desktop units decreased 2% compared to the same period last year. Shares of Intuit Inc. are trading 6.26% higher today.
The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TJX): The company announced its plans to repurchase approximately $1.2B-$1.3B of TJX stock during the fiscal year ending February 2, 2013. With approximately $225M remaining under the company’s existing stock repurchase program, the company’s board approved a new stock repurchase program that authorizes the repurchase of up to an additional $2Bof TJX common stock from time to time. The new authorization would represent approximately 8% of the Company’s outstanding shares at current prices. The repurchase program announced has no time limit and may be suspended or discontinued at any time. Shares of The TJX Companies, Inc. are trading 1.28% lower today.
Newfield Exploration Co. (NYSE:NFX): In 2011, Newfield invested approximately $100M to build a 125,000 net-acre position in the Cana Woodford, located in the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma. This acreage is a southeast extension of the prolific Cana Woodford play. Newfield plans to invest approximately $300M in the new area in 2012 and expects to operate up to seven drilling rigs. The Company believes that the acreage lies in both oil and “liquids-rich” gas areas of the play. Newfield will provide an update on its drilling results around mid-year 2012. Today, Newfield has more than 300,000 net acres in Oklahoma’s Woodford play. Shares of Newfield Exploration Co. are trading 9.11% lower today.
Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF): Herbalife raises quarterly dividend to 30c from 20c following its latest earnings report. Shares of Herbalife Ltd. are trading 6.2% higher today.
