Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and private equity FlashPoint Technology had jointly opposed Eastman Kodak’s (EKDKQ.PK) auctioning off its digital imaging patents as part of its restructuring, but a United States judge clears the way for the divestiture, with the sale possibly going forward in early August. The two opposing firms claims that they held ownership in some of the 1,100-plus patents.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is in discussions with Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY.PK), as well as credit-card companies and banks, concerning their possibly joining the carrier’s mobile-payments system, according to DT executive Thomas Kiessling to Bloomberg. Mastercard (NYSE:MA) in Europe has already joined the plan, a move that DT reported on Monday.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is seeking to have a $1.3 billion penalty that was imposed by the European Commission overturned, by contending that the antitrust regulators relied too heavily upon subjective commentary from customers, but not enough on hard evidence. The fine is connected to Intel’s practice of allowing rebates to PC original equipment manufacturers who exclusively or almost exclusively relied on its processing units (sometimes known as ‘tying contracts’). However, the European Ombudsman is giving Intel support, having censured the regulators for procedural errors.
