Microsoft CLOSES Perceptive Pixel Deal and 3 Dow Movers To Notice Now

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM): The United States Congress is being lobbied by banks to extend the special type of deposit insurance that covers all deposits, even those above $250,000, which the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. now covers, says Reuters. The special insurance expires at the end of 2012, and without it banks are worried that some firms could withdraw billions from their accounts.

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO), as of Jan. 1, 2013, will organize around three major operating divisions: Coca-Cola International, which will be comprised of the Company’s Europe, Pacific and Eurasia & Africa operations; Coca-Cola Americas, which will be made up of the Company’s North America and Latin America operations; and Bottling Investments Group, which governs the Company-owned bottling operations outside of North America. Ahmet Bozer, who currently serves as President of the Eurasia & Africa Group, will be named President of Coca-Cola International. Steve Cahillane, President and Chief Executive of Coca-Cola Refreshments, will become President of Coca-Cola Americas. Irial Finan will continue as President of Bottling Investments Group. The three above-named executives will continue to report to Muhtar Kent, Chairman and Chief Executive.

Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) purchase of Perceptive Pixel is complete, says General Manager, Office Division, Giovanni Mezgec via the firm’s blog. All closing conditions have been met, and PPI Founder, President, and Chief Technology Officer Jeff Han joins Microsoft as a general manager and thus will report to Kurt DelBene.

AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T) will reduce the contract price of HTC’s One X smartphone by 50 percent, according to DigiTimes, from the Chinese-language Commercial Times. The reduction in price comes from to lower-than-expected sales, because of weak worldwide economic conditions.
