Microsoft and IBM Shares Positive as Sprint Nextel Lags 1% in Trading

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT): Microsoft is set to unveil its lighter, low end hand set software, Tango, in China on March 21, says engadget.

Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S): LightSquared, which appears to be unable to obtain regulatory approval to build a wireless network, has hired two prominent conservative lawyers, the company said yesterday. The company confirmed that it had retained former U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olson and Eugene Scalia, the son of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, as the FCC moves to block the company from launching its wireless network. Sprint (NYSE:S) had made a deal to share its network with LightSquared, but looks set to opt out of the arrangement, Bloomberg reported recently.

IBM (NYSE:IBM): IBM’s smarter computing model has been selected by AXA Insurance for a massive four-year systems integration project in Romania designed to streamline business processes, reduce IT costs, and uncover new business opportunities. Under the agreement signed last year, IBM will provide systems integration and management services to help streamline risk management, consolidate data to provide the company with a single view of customers, and work to lower operational costs by automating several pieces of the insurance process.
