MarkWest OFFERS 6M Units to Offset Debt and 1 Morning Hot Stock to Notice

After a $750 million debt offering, MarkWest Energy Partners (NYSE:MWE) follows up with a public offer of 6 million common units the proceeds of which will be utilized to buy additional common units for capital spending and for general corporate purposes. Shares are down 4.49 percent.

According to the FTC’s remarks in a case involving CVS (NYSE:CVS) and Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD), which have sued Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and TEVA (NASDAQ:TEVA) for collaborating to keep generic versions of Effexor XR, an anti-depressant out of stores, pharma companies are warding off the threat of generic competition by mutual patent agreements not to sell generic versions of their own medicines.
