Liberty STALKS Sirius and 1 Morning Hot Stocks Not to Miss

Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LMCA) stalks Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) with another purchase of 31 million shares at $2.49 each, boosting its stake from 49.2 percent to 49.7 percent, in its relentless quest for outright control of the satellite radio service. The 50 percent mark is now just another $50 million away based on the latter’s yesterday close of $2.50, though Liberty needs the blessings of the FCC for acquiring full control.

American Airlines (AAMRQ.PK) farms out some of its flying to SkyWest (NASDAQ:SKYW). SkyWest will operate 23 Bombardier regional jets that currently fly under the American Eagle banner.

Recently disclosed documents in a lawsuit that alleges collusive action for keeping the prices of acquiree companies down reveal that Blackstone (NYSE:BX), Goldman Sachs’ (NYSE:GS) P-E arm, Bain and other firms appear to have conspired in such manipulations. A case in point is Bain’s $32.1B purchase of hospital major HCA in 2006, where rival bidders allegedly withdrew in return for a quid-pro on acquisitions of other companies.
