With its market share now over 11 percent Chrysler (FIATY) is looking to take on rivals such as Toyota, Honda and Ford with over six new models to be introduced over the next 18 months that emphasize interior luxury and better handling.
Kraft Foods (NYSE:KFT) paid $150 million to assume total control of Bimo, a biscuit company owned by the Moroccan ruling family.
McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) reported a good month for sales in August. Same-store sales were up 3.7 percent with U.S. sales rising 3 percent helped by heavy breakfast traffic. European sales climbed 3.1 percent while the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) segment grew 5.7% for the month.
Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) launched a new version of its YouTube app that runs on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The new app is not pre-loaded on Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices but will feature advertising as a first, and a huge number of additional videos. In an interesting sidelight, Google informs that daily video views on mobile devices now average a billion a day.
