LEAKED: iPhone 5 Photos

Purported images of the next-generation iPhone engineering samples, reportedly obtained “from a factory in China” through Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) supply sources have been posted by the blog GottaBeMobile. The images of the supposed sample do include most of the specifications that have been reported through earlier rumors by several news sources, including a 4-inch display.

The engineering samples show the next iPhone being approximately 4.72 inches long and 2.3 inches wide. It also appears to feature a chassis composed of liquidmetal. It includes the rumored smaller 19-pin dock connector instead of the 30-pin dock connector currently seen on iPhones, iPads, and iPods.

Apple has not spoken about the device yet, but is widely thought to be readying to launch it in the fall along with the new version of its iOS operating system. Among other features that have been talked about are an improved front-facing camera, 4G LTE data connectivity, a quad-Core Processor, and Near-Field Communication capability.
