In a move to better integrate the various Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) divisions and increase inter-departmental cooperation, Apple announced some management changes in October of last year. Now it appears that those changes are starting to bear fruit, especially when it comes to collaboration between Apple’s software and hardware designers, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Sources close to the Cupertino, California-based company describe a changing dynamic in the way that software and hardware designers are interacting. According to Wall Street Journal sources, designers of Apple’s mobile iOS are getting more information regarding the iPhone hardware earlier in the project, which is allowing them to better collaborate with the hardware team for producing the final product.
The increased cooperation between the software and hardware design teams is part of the changes that Apple was seeking when it initiated its management shake-up last October. The management change was coupled with the announcement of executive Scott Forstall’s departure. As stated in Apple’s press release, the management changes “encourage even more collaboration between the Company’s world-class hardware, software and services teams.
